Iguana Developments hosted a roof-top summer social at Essex House in the heart of Hull’s Old Town for Hull Young Professionals (HYP) – a growing network of career-focussed individuals – Hull’s business leaders of the not too distant future.
Hull Young Professionals Group is an opportunity for lawyers, pharmaceuticals, medical professionals, surveyors, engineers, and more, to meet up throughout the year for fun networking events run by young professionals, for young professionals.
The Group aims to provide a networking event every quarter with smaller ad-hoc ‘socials’ throughout the year.
Charles Weeks works with Iguana Developments and organised the event along with Harry Mills, Chair of the HYP. Charles says:
“We were delighted to receive over a hundred people at our recent social, especially as HYP was only established this year but already has over one hundred and seventy-five members and has hosted other events at the Doubletree Hilton, Thieving Harry’s, Humber Street Gallery and most recently the Roof Terrace at Essex House.”
“Anyone is welcome to come along for networking and to make friends. Many of our members have moved to Hull with their job and it’s always daunting moving to a new city, not knowing anybody.”
Property developer, Jason Coleman is the Managing Director of Iguana Developments. He welcomed the group to Essex House, which is one of the firm’s major building projects in Hull City Centre. He says:
“I am really pleased to see so many young people joining Hull Young Professionals, especially those who are new to living here. Hull is raising its profile as a great place to live, work and play and this group is a clear indication of the growing numbers who’ve relocated for work.”
“Charles is one of my house share tenants. I was pleased to offer him a job through the Iguana Developments group of companies, within Yupelet, which provides luxury accommodation exclusively for young professionals, while he continues with under-graduate training in real estate.”
Charles saw a great opportunity to support this exciting group. He adds:
“It can be very daunting moving to a brand new area not knowing anybody, therefore the easiest way to meet people is to live with them. Yupelet has around 150 young professionals living in 5-12 bed luxury house shares in the Old Town, The Avenues area and Kingswood and we find that joining this type of community, keeps the talent in the City as people to make Hull their home for life.”
HYP welcomes new members. To be added to the mailing list and to hear about latest events, email hypnetwork@outlook.com or visit the Facebook and LinkedIn pages.
Please check the website at www.yupelet.com or call Charles on 07947 932784.
